My First Wedding! (Tiffany and Albert)
A few weeks ago my sister gave me the exciting opertunity to be a second shooter for a wedding she was photographing. It was fun to have the oppertuniy to be creative and not have the pressure of being the "real" photographer! I think I got some really great shots and Tiffany and Albert were so clearly in love, it was easy!

New Blog Name
So lately I have really been making an effort to e-mail childrens photographers and ask for advice. Going through the many web sites and blogs out there I have realized that my phogography has a long way to go. I have the drive, the passion, and I hope the talent, so right now I am putting as much effort as I can to understand lighting, exposure, and editing, so I can one day call my work art, turn my hobby into a business. I have changed my blog name to reflect my new status as a photographer. I am on a journey right now, to discover my voice and to become the best photographer that I can be. This blog will be a reflection of that journey, and I hope those who are reading this will keep on reading. My goal is to have a real web site, and be in a professional status by next year. We shall see how things go!

Little Aiden
I took these photos for my friend Allison. Aiden is about 1 month old and was FASCINATED with my camera. He literally wouldn't take his eyes off of the lens.
Although the lighting was from a lamp, and it was not ideal, I couldn't help but snap this picture just after he fell asleep. It is one of my favorites!

Obsessed…
So whenever I get interested in something, I get obsessed. I throw everything I have into it, and talk about it incessantly (although I am trying to tone it down). I think if my poor husband Todd has to hear me talk about the new monitor calibrators, Photoshop actions, or hear me ask the question "how much should I charge people", he may just go crazy. Actually, I have to give him credit where credit is due. Todd has been extremely supportive of my new endeavor, and has been my biggest fan. Being very fresh to Children's photography, I have a lot to learn and am taking every opportunity I can to do so. I read constantly online an in books, and am asking to do photo shoots for my friends all of the time (Thanks Guys!). One thing I can say for sure is that for the first time in my life, I feel a passion for something that brings me an immense amount of joy and satisfaction. Capturing a the personality of a child through my camera lens, and seeing those "perfect" shots on my computer screen is the most gratifying feeling in the world. I hope that I bring as much joy to the family's I photograph as I receive myself. Thanks everyone for supporting me!

Savanna
This was probably my toughest and most realistic photo shoot so far. Savanna is a bundle of energy who keeps going non-stop, so I actually got quite a workout. I know now that I can handle the business that is Children's Photography! Despite all of the running around (which I really did need :-), this proved to be one of the best shoots I have had so far. Savanna has the most beautiful blue eyes, which I hope I was able to capture. Thanks again Heather for letting me practice on her!
